American Man Pleads Guilty To Domain Name Theft

The domain name was stolen by a New Jersey man and sold on eBay for more than $111,000, AP reports.

The report says a 26 year-old man has pleaded guilty in a New Jersey court to hacking into the registrant’s Go Daddy account in 2006 and transferred the domain name to his own account before selling it to an unwitting buyer who did not know the domain name was stolen.

Prosecutors will recommend that he serves a five-year prison term and pay restitution for his crimes, the report says.
