European Domain Centre Commemorates 30th Anniversary of First Domain With Infographic of Year Each TLD Added

In one week’s time on 15 March it will be the 30th anniversary of the first domain name registered – Back in 1985 were eight top level domains to choose from – .com, .org, .net, .edu .gov, .uk, us and il.To commemorate the upcoming anniversary, the European Domain Centre has published an infographic showing the year in which each of the now 800+ TLDs were introduced.By 1997 most ccTLDs had been delegated with only a handful being each year, if any, added until 2014, when the first of the new gTLDs were delegated.
