Domain Name Journal logo2016 has started where 2015 left off, with another six-figure sale to top the Domain Name Journal chart of top reported sales. Topping the chart for the fortnight ending 17 January was the sale of recovery.net, which sold for $200,000 in a private sale.

Following was a string of short domains in second to seventh place, with four characters or less including awm.com and wfv.com which sold for $99,750 and $85,000 respectively and both through Sedo to take out second and third spots. In fifth spot there was 7.gg which sold for €40,500 ($44,145).

Sedo took out 15 of the top 20 sales. And on the TLD side of things there were 14 .com sales and one each for .net, .gg, .it, .nl, .eu and .fr.
