In the last compilation published in 2012 of the top reported domain name sales by Domain Name Journal, the highest domain name sale of 2012 was finalised with the sale of investing.com for $2.45 million in a private sale.
The sale easily dwarfed the second largest sale, as would be expected, in the week ending 9 December. The second biggest sale was endgame.com, sold for $80,000, while third was latest.com selling for â¬21,850 ($28,624), both sold through Sedo.
Overall there were eleven domain names sold through Sedo in the top 21 sales for the week (there was a tie for 20th place) and another seven sales through Afternic.
On the TLD front, there were 16 .com sales, two .co.uk and one each for .de, .org and .net.
