Indonesia’s ISPs to block pirated music sites

The Indonesian Internet Service Provider Association (APJII) plans to block all websites that allow visitors to download music illegally, in a bid to protect the local music business, APJII's chairman, Semmy Pangerapan, said on Thursday.
"The process will be similar to the clearing house, where we close access to unauthorized content, so local music will be more appreciated," he said during an APJII conference in Denpasar, Bali as quoted by kompas.com.

Indonesia ISPs mull blocking illegal music sites
Indonesian Internet service providers (ISPs) are considering blocking users from accessing sites to download pirated music, but have yet to determine a timeline on when such measures will be introduced.
In a Jakarta Post report on Friday, it cited Semeul Pangerapa, vice chairman of the Indonesian Internet Service Provider Association (APJII), as saying the move will protect the local music business industry and help local ISPs expand their legal music download business.
