Stakes are high as apps turn kids into gamblers

Children are using smartphones as gambling machines as they get increasingly bombarded with opportunities to gamble through phone apps and social media sites such as Facebook.
And researchers warn that all it takes is a parent's credit card number, a payment through a phone account, or an over-the-counter Facebook gift card, and kids are spending real money on what they may think are just games but which can risk turning into problem gambling later.
