Microsoft Bing trails in Google’s wake

After years of effort and hundreds of millions of dollars of investment, Microsoft finally has an internet search engine whose search results bear comparison with Google.
How much of a hand it got from its rival in the process, however, has just become the subject of a heated argument. According to Google, the software company has taken some short cuts along the way - including using its IE8 web browser to lift results from its rival and copy them directly into its own Bing search service.
